Abstract

CUBIDES CIPAGAUTA, FERNANDO. Jaramillo Uribe: Sociologist, Historian. Anu. colomb. hist. soc. cult. [online]. 2017, vol.44, n.1, pp.35-47. ISSN 0120-2456.  https://doi.org/10.15446/achsc.v44n1.61206.

Using 32 essays compiled from the book De la sociología a la historia (From Sociology to History) as main references, this article examines the overlaps, affinities, and complementarities between the two disciplines in the trajectory of Jaime Jaramillo Uribe as researcher, teacher, pioneer in professional historical research and disseminator. This is based on the biographic information that Jaramillo himself contributes both in Memoriasintelectuales (Intellectual Memoirs) as in various essays and the interview in De la sociología a la historia. The objective is to extend and apply this analysis to his other publications as well as to the whole of his career.
