Abstract
PAEZ, Manuel S; VERGARA, María K and CANTERO, Plinio D. VOLUMETRIC PROPERTIES OF THE MIXTURE N,N-DIMETHYLFORMAMIDE +1- PROPANOL AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES. Rev.Colomb.Quim. [online]. 2012, vol.41, n.1, pp.75-88. ISSN 0120-2804.
The densities of the binary system N, N-Dimethylformamide + 1-propanol were measured as a function of the mole frac-tion at temperatures of (283.15, 288.15, 293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308, 15 and 313.15) K and 1011bar, using a vibrating tube densimeter DMA 5000. Experimental data of density was used to calculate excess molar volumes (VEm), excess partial molar volumes of solute and solvent ( V¯Ei), partial molar volumes at infinite dilution (V¯∞i) and the virial coeffcients (bv) according to the McMillan-Mayer theory, which were discussed in terms of the interactions present in solution. The excess molar volumes were correlated using a polynomial equation Redlich-Kister. The excess molar volumes and excess partial molar volumes of solute and solvent are negative over the entire range of mole fraction at all temperatu-res of study, a fact which may be due to specific interactions between the components or the association through weak forces.
