Abstract
MASIAS, RODOLFO and ARISTIZABAL, CARLOS. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, DIVERSITY, AND INEQUALITY: AN APPROACH TO COLOMBIAN ACADEMIC ANTHROPOLOGY. Maguare [online]. 2022, vol.36, n.1, pp.127-160. Epub Jan 12, 2023. ISSN 0120-3045. https://doi.org/10.15446/mag.v36n1.100872.
Drawing from the academic resumes available in the Colombian CVLAC database, this article approaches the state of Colombian academic Anthropology from the perspective of "academic achievement". We postulate this perspective as a framework of observation and interpretation capable of accounting for the ways that an academic unfolds his or her potential. At the same time, we propose it as a category that overcomes the biases and impostures of the productivity approach. The productivity approach has promoted an exclusive model of research and assessment of academic life that restricts academic realization to a single form of expression and material measurement, connected with a determined rationalization and maximization of academic work. Our study highlights the processes of homogenization of academic achievement that generate social inequality; in addition, we highlight the coexistence of dissimilar academic projects and the diversification of academic Anthropology.
