TRUJILLO DAVILA, María Andrea and GUZMAN VASQUEZ, Alexánder. Intra/entrepreneurship: a review of the theoretical construct, its implications, and an agenda for future research. Cuad. Adm. [online]. 2008, vol.21, n.35, pp.37-63. ISSN 0120-3592.
Intra/entrepreneurship is a type of entrepreneurial activity carried out in already established organizations. It has started to appear on research agendas, given its importance to the success of an organization. A discussion regarding its theoretical construct, its inducers, its implications, areas of consensus and areas of debate, as well as opportunities for future research are the topics broached in this literature review that identifies theoretical and empirical contributions alike published in different academic journals in the United States and in Europe in the past ten years. This article shows that the topics, among others, on the agenda for future research in this field are characterizing the intra/entrepreneurship activities carried out by organizations in turbulent environments, analyzing intra/entrepreneurship as a scenario for company internationalization, studying the relation between professional and social networks in the organization as well as the generation of new ideas and activities tied to intra/entrepreneurship, and exploring the sociological and psychological factors related to ntra/entrepreneurial behavior.
