Abstract

This paper offers a reflection about the (degradation of the spiritual dimension of men today, the crisis and frustration of human beings concerning their current situation, and their desire for authentic existence. This reflection is based on the works of two important authors from different time periods: The Spiritual Situation of Our Time, by Karl Jaspers, and Heading for the Abyss? An Essay on the Fate of Humanity, by Edgar Morin, These works and their authors are the point of departure of a dialogue with other famous writers, such as Paul Tillich, Viktor Frankl and Erich Fromm, who devoted themselves to investigate about human spirituality.
