Abstract

RESTREPO-RESTREPO, Nataly. Childhood Education in Colombia: Analysis Regarding Articulation between Educational Levels. Rev. colomb. educ. [online]. 2022, n.84, e201.  Epub Oct 26, 2022. ISSN 0120-3916.  https://doi.org/10.17227/rce.num84-11317.

The objective of this article is to reflect on childhood within the scholastic context of childhood education while narrating experiences that boys and girls have in the transition between initial education, kindergarten, and first grade in public schools, as well as describing the disagreements, discontinuities, or critical points that occur in the articulation between educational levels. What is exposed is the product of the interpretive hermeneutical analysis to rescue the voices and the experience of the subjects. Several techniques were used, such as the in-depth interview with the teachers and the Mosaic focusing on boys and girls. The participating population was 14 teachers and educational agents from both levels and 17 boys and girls from the transition degree and first grade. As a result, it was found that articulation is furthermore the axis of analysis that seems to warn about one of the crises involving the education of children, the lack of continuity represents a breaking point in the necessary progression of the contents, methodologies, and teachers' practices, and it is these variables, as disagreements, which boys and girls encounter on their journeys, and which directly influence their scholastic experience.

Keywords : early childhood education; childhood; transition; articulation; continuity of education.
