Abstract

GUERRERO PINO, Germán. VAN FRAASSEN Y LA CONCEPCIÓN ESTRUCTURALISTA DE LAS TEORÍAS* †. Prax. filos. [online]. 2007, n.25, pp.21-38. ISSN 0120-4688.

This paper makes a general comparative study between the two more important proposals into the semantic approach of theories, the Structuralist view and van Fraassen´s one. I present the principal points of agreement and disagreement between the two views, in overhead terms. The points of comparison are: identity elements of a theory, characterization of theoretic and data models, the empirical claim form and the epistemic neutrality. In each one of the points, I defend a particular thesis and present the different arguments that hold this, and the relationship between them, too.

Keywords : Theory; syntax; semantics; Structuralist Program; van Fraassen; theoretic model; data model and empirical claim.
