Abstract

CASTANEDA HERNANDEZ, María del Carmen. TRAUMA AND FICTION: LEOPOLDO BRIZUELA'S UNA MISMA NOCHE. Linguist.lit. [online]. 2013, n.63, pp.117-127. ISSN 0120-5587.

the purpose of this paper aims to establish that Leopoldo Brizuela's Una misma noche is one of the numerous narrative attempts to recreate and rescue, from the present moment, a past of violence and hurt, taking into account the postulates of the trauma theory for understanding the function of memory as a tool from where new social and cultural identities are reconstructed and where traumatic experiences can become stimuli for fiction works.

Keywords : fiction; historical trauma; structural trauma; memory.
