Abstract

CABRERA LOPEZ, John Jairo; NARVAEZ, José Luis  and  RODRIGUEZ PAEZ, Jorge Enrique. Synthesis of ZrO2 nanometric using controlled precipitation. Rev.fac.ing.univ. Antioquia [online]. 2009, n.47, pp.20-28. ISSN 0120-6230.

In this work the process of synthesis of ZrO2 is presented using controlled precipitation method taking as precursor the metallic salt ZrOCl2•8H2O. The ceramic powders were characterized with different techniques to determine their chemical composition, crystalline structures, morphology and particle size. The particles showed a nanometric size (<200nm) and spheroidal shape to specific conditions of process. The synthesis process guarantees the reproduction of the method and therefore the characteristics of the obtained ceramic powders.

Keywords : Zirconium oxide; controlled precipitation; hydrolysis; FTIR; XRD; TEM.
