Abstract

LOPEZ OBANDO, Patricia. Origin of higher education spin- off companies in Colombia, an overview from a project management perspective (phase 1). Rev. esc.adm.neg [online]. 2017, n.82, pp.61-72. ISSN 0120-8160.  https://doi.org/10.21158/01208160.n82.2017.1649.

In higher education, a new spin- off generation has been growing as an alternative to build up company culture; for this reason, new strategies have been implemented to incubate new technology- based companies, which are expected to accelerate business ideas and be positioned in the market. However, there are no current studies that describe their origin, consolidation and preservation. Consequently, this study makes a literature review regarding the development of spin- off companies in Colombia and their follow- up in terms of project and research made. This research paper shows a descriptive study which defines quantitative variables that describe the origin and consolidation of such spin- off companies. Its outcomes make a proposal to evaluate each process associated with the development and consolidation of these companies as a project to contribute to their permanent success and growth.
