Abstract
MINA ESCOBAR, Alexis et al. Chitosan coatings electrochemical y tribologic functionalization in tricalcium phosphate, deposited on 316L steel. Rev. Fac. ing. [online]. 2013, vol.22, n.35, pp.61-73. ISSN 0121-1129.
Tricalcium phosphate β-TCP/chitosan coatings were deposited on 316L steel substrates, via electro-deposition at a 60 °C temperature, applying a 260 mA current. In order to study the chitosan content effect in the corrosion rate and the tribological response on the coated steels, six chitosan concentrations were used in the aqueous mixture. The chemical bonds present in the layers were studied by an infrared spectroscopy with Fourier Transform (FTIR), the deposits crystallinity were examined by a X-ray diffraction (XRD), the steels deposited on TCP-β/Chitosan' corrosion resistance, were studied by a Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and the anodic Tafel curves, finding a 54% reduction in the corrosion rate for the relation 50-50, with respect to 100% TCP. The tribological response was analyzed using pin-on-disc, showing a 73% reduction in the friction coefficient with the highest chitosan concentration.
