Abstract

MOLINA, Ramón Eveiro  and  RIVERA, Hender. Atmospheric Abundance Analysis of the Red Giant Star HD 62968. rev. cienc. [online]. 2014, vol.18, n.2, pp.95-108. ISSN 0121-1935.

A detailed analysis of chemical abundances in the atmosphere of the star HD 62968 is reported. The star has infrared excess reported in the PASTEL catalogue. The high- resolution spectra (R∼42 000) were obtained from the ELODIE (OHP) library. Initial values of effective temperature, surface gravity, microturbulence velocity were estimated and used for the calculation of atmospheric abundances using an updated version of the MOOG code. It is concluded that HD 62968 has experienced the first dredge-up and it is evolving towards the red giant phase

Keywords : Atmospheric parameters; abundances; red giant stars; parámetros atmosféricos; abundancias; estrella gigante roja.
