Abstract

HERNANDEZ, Jesús; VILLAVICENCIO, Judy; ARCE, Edwin  and  MORENO, Freddy. Talon cusp: a report of five cases. Rev Fac Odontol Univ Antioq [online]. 2010, vol.21, n.2, pp.208-217. ISSN 0121-246X.

The purpose of this article is to review the literature and report five cases in which different morphological expressions are observed. Also, it approaches the esthetical and functional challenges that these cases represent for the clinical management of this dental morphological dental trait, and the most conservative treatment options. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to treatment of these morphological traits within the context of dentistry, anthropology and forensic dentistry, considering its frequency and variability.

Keywords : talon cusp; morphology; teeth.
