Abstract

OROZCO RESTREPO, Gabriel; RODRIGUEZ ALBOR, Gustavo  and  CASTRO LOPEZ, Carlos. International Projection and Regional Stability. The Case of Brazil and Mercosur in the International Politics. Investig. desarro. [online]. 2010, vol.18, n.2, pp.242-269. ISSN 0121-3261.

This article will focus on understanding and exposing the importance that has had Brazil on the game of international politics. This country has developed a potential force to consolidate a regional bloc that would serve as the basis for its international projection. Brazil has consolidated its image and role as a global power because of the necessity to propel a centrifugal force that is beyond the scope of regional integration. It provides empirical evidence that regional integration has had a positive impact on economic security and political stability in the region of MERCOSUR, and Brazil's convergence generates a higher international projection, also impulses the integration in South American with unasur project.

Keywords : Brazil; MERCOSUR; international policy; regional integration.
