Abstract
PEDREROS MARTINEZ, Rosa Inés. Modes of thinking and talking about equilibrium: meaning and contexts of use in the field of science. Rev. Fac. Cienc. Tecnol. [online]. 2014, n.35, pp.113-132. ISSN 0121-3814.
This review was undertaken with the aim of revealing the modes of thinking and modes of speaking on the equilibrium concept; it is an exploratory and descriptive study, carried out from the contexts analysis of the sources studied. The analysis takes into account the sense and meaning of thinking and speaking modes: thinking and speaking modes on the equilibrium, thermodynamic equilibrium and the phenomenon of thermal equilibrium. Different kinds of modes of thinking and speaking about equilibrium were found and they gave us the option of analyzing facts based on ontological and epistemological foundations that allow researches connect the knowledge with the cultural contexts of communities. This review will help researchers construct a background for the Doctoral study that proposes the following research question: ¿What is the conceptual profile of thermal equilibrium in people of two culturally different communities? and will be carried out in the Interinstitutional PhD in Education at Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas in Bogotá, Colombia.
Keywords : Equilibrium; modes of talking; science education; cultural diversity.
