Introduction:
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused some changes in the line of obstetric care, influencing the health of nursing professionals.
Objective:
To describe the experience in regard to occupational health by an obstetric critical care nursing team during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Content synthesis:
Experience report focused on the professionals at an obstetric unit in Ceará, Brazil, during intensive care unit activities in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Precarious working conditions aggravated by the singularities required in critical obstetric care were identified by this study. Nursing professionals have experienced situations that cause physical injuries and mental suffering, which can negatively affect their work activities.
Conclusions:
It is necessary to deploy actions to mitigate the negative effects for nursing professionals involved in critical obstetric care during and after the critical phase of the pandemic.
