This text presents the relevant aspects, findings and conclusions of the investigation of lynching in urban contexts from the case of Bogotá, investigating the motivations that Colombian society manifests before this collective act of violence, together with a review of the relationships between the forms of collective violence that emerge from the dynamics of the armed conflict, in the face of the socio-economic dynamics that foment lynching in some urban spaces. The strategy of urban security and citizen arrests in the quadrants of the city of Bogotá is also reviewed and it is investigated whether these arrests incorporate community self-defense practices.
