Abstract
REYES DEL TORO, Paula and SALDARRIAGA, Juan Guillermo. Biofilm behavior after successive washes in water pipes under pressure. rev.ing. [online]. 2005, n.22, pp.142-150. ISSN 0121-4993.
Biofilm behavior was evaluated using a laboratory model made of three PVCu pipes (Diameters: 2.5", 3" y 4") and a Biaxial PVC pipe of 4" connected in parallel. The biofilm growth, the flushing removal efficiency and the behavior of the energy loses were evaluated. The modeling results show that flushing is an effective way of controlling biofilm growth, while the energy losses through the pipe are reestablished.
