Abstract

JAEN-GARCIA, Manuel  and  PIEDRA-MUNOZ, Laura. Analysis of the Relationship Between Economic Growth and Public Capital in Spain. Innovar [online]. 2012, vol.22, n.44, pp.165-183. ISSN 0121-5051.

This work analyzes the relationship between public infrastructures and economic growth in Spain. The aim is therefore to focus on whether public capital investments in Spain favor productivity growth in the private sector inside the country, and the importance of the composition of public capital in the region and in the adjacent regions. To do so, consideration is alternately given to a Cobb-Douglas model with constant yields to scale, and a translog production function. It is thus shown that public capital has a strong and positive influence on Spanish economic growth.

Keywords : public infrastructures; economic growth; regional policy.
