This article exposes some of the barriers for hiring people with physical disabilities in public service organizations, specifically candidates for the position of bus driver for the Integrated Public Transport System of Bogotá, Colombia. The basis for this research is a qualitative, empirical, and exploratory case study, framed within organizational studies (OS), which contributes to the understanding of a problem that has not been sufficiently addressed. This work is grounded on the interpretation and the interest of deepening on data obtained through the direct dialogue with some individuals immersed in the phenomenon. Hence, it does not seek to propose generalizations. Among the main obstacles identified we can mention the following: low educational levels that restrain inclusion; educational approaches that do not promote continuous training processes or inclusive infrastructures; gender exclusion; prejudices about people's "limitations" that generate contempt; and negative social and organizational imaginaries that provoke active discrimination and demotivation in the population at the time of applying for a position.
