Abstract

SANABRIA TIRADO, RAÚL; TRUJILLO DAVILA, MARÍA ANDREA  and  GUZMAN VASQUEZ, ALEXANDER. POWER AND STRATEGY. Rev.fac.cienc.econ. [online]. 2008, vol.16, n.2, pp.11-30. ISSN 0121-6805.

As the strategic process is usually within a normative rational approach without taking into consideration the distribution of power inside the organization, this paper aims at clarifying how the distribution of power may affect strategy formulation and implementation effectiveness by identifying the different actors that may influence such processes; the role the conflict of particular interests plays; and organizational pathologies derived from power abuse and misuse.

Keywords : Power; strategy; conflict of interest; formal groups; informal groups.
