Abstract

CAMPAGNOLI, Mabel Alicia. Judith Butler's concept of chiasmus: towards positive biopolitics. Nómadas [online]. 2013, n.39, pp.47-61. ISSN 0121-7550.

This article recovers the idea of chiasmus, as conceptualized by Judith Butler; through said concept it is impossible to ignore the corporal character of performativity. Through the chiasmus, we achieve a more accurate reinterpretation of performativity in terms of its corporal character, and politic implications. Two main focuses are exposed: first, the production of knowledge in the social sciences; and second, the involvement in sociopolitical life. The paper concludes that both converge in a positive line of biopolitics.

Keywords : Chiasmus; performativity; biopolitics; body; knowledge; democratic life.
