Abstract

RODRIGUEZ-CUBEROS, Édgar Giovanni. The immanence of the "Puppet Master": towards post-human social studies. Nómadas [online]. 2017, n.47, pp.123-135. ISSN 0121-7550.

Based on the work of Rossi Braidotti, the article uses the manga series Ghost in the Shell to explore the current anachronism of Social Sciences and Humanities in the face of the interpretive challenges through the transformation of reality and the implications through the generalized use of robotics, algorithmic and biogenetic technologies. Thus, the article inquires as to what extent new ontologies, ideologies and metaphysics of presence problematize the human condition even more. Ethics, as proposed by Braidotti, must be reconstructed in order to state the new transitions implied by the transfer of "information societies" to Anthropocene societies, as well as the robotic and biogenetic singularity.

Keywords : contemporary social theory; posthumanism; cyberculture; artificial intelligence; ethics and aesthetics.
