Abstract
MORENO, Hortensia and MINGO, Araceli. Fear, Contempt, and Desire as Shapes of Sexism at the University. Nómadas [online]. 2019, n.51, pp.13-29. ISSN 0121-7550. https://doi.org/10.30578/nomadas.n51a1.
This work has its origins in a series of student mobilization and the impressions gained. The protests expressed the discontent of many young university female students towards the sexist behavior of their male peers and professors. We interviewed female students at the Universidad Autónoma de México and used some testimonies published in the media for the analysis; we also used the theoretical framework of Françoise Héritier and Estela Serret on how fear, contempt, and desire spring out the sexist violence that female students denounced.
Keywords : Sexism; Misogyny; Violence against Women; Feminist Mobilizations; Performativity; Higher Education.
