Abstract
PARDO BUENO, Luis Miguel. POLITICAL AND MILITARY GOVERNMENT IN THE SOVEREING STATE OF BOLIVAR 1857- 1886. Anu.hist.reg.front. [online]. 2012, vol.17, n.2, pp.403-427. ISSN 0122-2066.
This article examines the process of the army building in the Sovereign State of Bolivar in the years 1857-1886, describing the organization of the armed force from its legal and constitutional foundations, the political and military control over the armed body and its relationship with the powers of the State of Bolivar. It also analyses the military regulations and the laws that supported their existence by measuring how far these were met and gave some legitimacy against illegal armed groups that clashed repeatedly with the public armed force, distinguishing the legitimate army from the peasant militias of the region.
