Abstract

This article seeks to address the problems and effects derived from the mediatization of collective memories, especially when considering the power relations involved in mass media structures, in particular the television industry. Here, the events occurred after a series of TV documentaries were aired in 2013 on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Chilean coup d'état were selected to contribute to the systematization of the concept of industry of the memory.
