Abstract
LOAIZA CANO, Gilberto. Temporality, sociability and democracy (Colombia and its 19th century). Hist. Caribe [online]. 2016, vol.11, n.28, pp.177-210. ISSN 0122-8803. https://doi.org/10.15648/hc.28.2016.7.
This article, supported on primary sources and a historiography on the subject, suggests that sociability, in Colombia, must be understood within the historical processes of representative democracy and the literate culture. Consequently, sociability is a collective phenomenon related to the history of public opinion, with mutations in public life, with the presence of very diverse political staff. Finally, this paper examines what may be the horizon of future research on sociability in Colombia.
Keywords : Sociability; temporality; representative democracy; public opinion; literate culture.
