Abstract
HERNANDEZ VIDAL, Augusto. Territorial distribution of voting in different electoral systems. Rev. Derecho Estado [online]. 2013, n.31, pp.209-230. ISSN 0122-9893.
Abstract Research on political representation in public elections is frequently focused on political parties, but is less common to consider the land that is being represented by the political parties, or, to be more precise, by each winner of the elections. Through this investigation some behaviors of regional distribution of voting in public elections are described, in different types of electoral systems. Statistical methods are used to prove the theories. The hypotheses reached are not related to single member elections and are linked only to the regional dimension of representation, disregarding party representation.
Keywords : Electoral systems; at large elections; uninominal districts; regional distribution of voting; electoral coefficient of variation.
