Abstract

GOMEZ ANAYA, Wilson Fernando. Procesos de transformación espacial de los bosques andinos en la microcuenca del río Guacha en el Encino, Santander (1978-1994-2006). Perspectiva Geográfica [online]. 2013, vol.18, n.1, pp.39-64.  Epub June 06, 2024. ISSN 0123-3769.

In Colombia, the Andean ecosystems have strong demographic and eco-nomic intervention; therefore natural landscapes are transformed and frag-mented over time. This article deepens locally on landscape transformation processes through an integrated study of it and its evolution over the past 28 years. The results identify 28 geosystems in the watershed, of which 12 contain an anthropic landscape and 13 retain a high degree of naturalness; likewise, it was registered a trend of stability of the processes of change. The Andean forests exhibit a loss of 7.37 ha/year or a rate of 0.23 %, and areas with greater loss are associated with core areas, thus increasing edge effects and fragmentation. The results will allow the watershed planning through his-torical usage processes and condition of the landscape in order to facilitate the construction of alternatives of use and conservation of geosystems.

Keywords : transformation processes; geosystems; landscape; Andean for-ests; landscape dynamics; local scale.
