Abstract

OVIEDO ALBAN, Jorge. Buyers protection for lack of conformity in the international sales of goods. Rev. Derecho Privado [online]. 2014, n.26, pp.219-253. ISSN 0123-4366.

In this article, the author discusses the lack of conformity in the sale from its regulation in the United nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, in which the delivery of goods from the seller to the buyer by defects of quantity, quality and type, is a case of breach of contract. From this, the Convention applies the unified system of remedies. This system has also been adopted by modern instruments of contract law replacing the rules governing the latent defects, which has been traditionally adopted by the codes of civil law tradition.

Keywords : International sale of goods; lack of conformity of the goods; breach of contract.
