The safety of the port is key in ship's operation, thus it is of great importance in the maritime contractual field, particularly in charterparties. This article offers a comparative analysis between Argentinian and English law regarding safe ports. It draws from the international relevance of English law in charterparty contracts, as well as from the desire of uniformity among national maritime law. This article offers a comparative analysis of jurisprudence, statutes and legal doctrine. Finally, it highlights the main differences and similarities between Argentinian and English law regarding the safe port undertaking.
