Abstract

PINILLA-DIAZ, Alexis V.. Eliasian Configurations and Historical Knowledge. Folios [online]. 2018, n.47, pp.69-79. ISSN 0123-4870.

In this paper I reflect on the theoretical proposal of Norbert Elias, known as historical sociology, and the challenges for historical knowledge that result from it. The central elements of reflection have to do with the way the author approaches the relationships between individuals and society, the configurations built over time, and the psychogenetic and sociogenetic transformations as bases for social analysis. This analysis revives the complementarity between sociology and history, emphasizing two central elements: the category of configuration and the relationship between time and civilization.

Keywords : Configurations; historical knowledge; civilization process; social time.
