Abstract

HENAO-JARAMILLO, Simón. R. H. Moreno-Durán, Essayist: De la barbarie a la imaginación. Lit. teor. hist. crit. [online]. 2014, vol.16, n.2, pp.13-35. ISSN 0123-5931.  https://doi.org/10.15446/lthc.v16n2.47214.

The criticism proposed by Moreno-Duran in his essay De la barbarie a la imaginación involves the recognition of an imaginary projection by means of which Latin America has been constructed as a narrative process. This operation not includes only topics within the scope of the aesthetic field but covers aspects which permit its identification as an expression of the political, insofar as it conceives of literature as knowing, as an object of action, of construction of cultural and political subjectivities.

Keywords : Moreno-Durán; essay; Latin American literature; imagination; identity; literature and politics.
