Abstract

COCUNUBO-SUAREZ, José I.; PARRA-VALENCIA, Jorge A.  and  OTALORA-LUNA, Jorge E.. Evaluation of Virtual Teaching-Learning Environments based on usability standards. TecnoL. [online]. 2018, vol.21, n.41, pp.135-147. ISSN 0123-7799.

Abstract The main objective of this review article is to determine the necessary sub-characteristics or aspects for the evaluation of Virtual Teaching-Learning Environments (VTLEs) as final or finished products based on ISO 9126, 14598 and 25000-SQuaRE standards. A systematic information search was carried out. A total of 108 documents were retrieved about subjects such as web usability, virtual learning environments, usability, educational software, educational web evaluation, usability evaluation and web usability evaluation. Out of the 108 documents, 70 were selected by inclusion and exclusion analysis. The eight subfeatures of greater statistical frequency were identified among the subset of documents and then integrated as a proposal for standard 25000-SQuaRE.

Keywords : Virtual Teaching-Learning Environment (VTLE); Virtual Learning Environment (VLE); Usability; Usability Evaluation; E-learning; Web-based Educational Software.
