Abstract
ALMEYDA-SARMIENTO, Juan David and BOTERO-BERNAL, Andrés. One hell after another: Meditations on Home and the Pandemic. discus.filos [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.38, pp.77-92. Epub Jan 31, 2022. ISSN 0124-6127. https://doi.org/10.17151/difil.2021.22.38.6.
This article aims to break with the idealization that, during the pandemic, has been made about life at home and that ignores that living-with-others implies a dialectic of positivity and negativity that many lived and continue to live as a hell. Thus, the work consists of three parts: the first part presents an explanation of the criticisms of neoliberalism focused on the wear it makes of the home; the second part, which exposes certain phenomena that covid-19 caused to emerge, especially due to quarantine, in relation to the conception of the home; and the third part, a critical examination of neoliberal capitalism and regulations because of the pandemic due to the forced return home. This last point is proposed to suspect the idea that in the past the homes were better, to affirm that homes, throughout their existence, especially in Latin America, have really been places marked by an impulse of Eros and death.
Keywords : Covid-19; pandemic; home; dwelling; neoliberalism.
