Abstract
JIMENEZ-RIOS, Francisco Javier; GONZALEZ-GIJON, Gracia; AMARO, Ana Emilia and MARTINEZ-HEREDIA, Nazaret. The value of the person in 1st century narratives. Women, resistance and education. discus.filos [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.42, pp.31-55. Epub Jan 25, 2024. ISSN 0124-6127. https://doi.org/10.17151/difil.2023.24.42.3.
We start from an understanding of the human person as a communicative and symbolic reality. We emphasise the more subjective aspect of education, as showing the best of the person (educere) by creatively appropriating the treasures of history (educare). With these premises, we approach narratives that are surprising for the heterodoxy (resistance) they manifest, with respect to the social reality in which they were written, in the 1st century, in which they were written. In this approach it becomes evident that the interruption of the silence of women, which appears in these narratives, shows the radical value of the human personal reality, opening an egalitarian educational space.
