Abstract
SEVILLA VILLALOBOS, Salvador. Psychopolitics, sexual differentiation of urban space and leisure. Gated communities to the east of Guadalajara. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2021, vol.31, n.3, pp.217-231. Epub Sep 23, 2021. ISSN 0124-7913. https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v31n3.87510.
We live in a context of uncertainty; in globalization, urban areas are configured through new market dynamics. This market is reconstituted and appropriates new concepts that seem to contradict it and give rise to a new political subject. Based on a geographical perspective, this text addresses how gender interactions in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area are established through the formation of the global city and the immersion of psychopolitics as a prevailing ideology in hyperconsumption societies. To do this, the concept of Production of Space is used and the spheres that this thinking promotes as the main ones that affect daily life are explored, with emphasis on the spatial flows that women and men carry out in the city with the aim of satisfying leisure.
Keywords : metropolitan areas; social mobility; leisure; human geography; urban decentralization.
