Abstract
ROJAS-ALVARADO, Alexander F.. NOVELTIES IN DIPLAZIUM (WOODSIACEAE) WITH PINNATE-LOBULATE FRONDS FROM THE NEOTROPICS. Actu Biol [online]. 2012, vol.34, n.97, pp.153-159. ISSN 0304-3584.
Two new species of Diplazium with pinnately-lobed fronds are described here: D. pseudocarnosum and D. salazarianum. The first species can be distinguished from Diplazium carnosum by shorter rhizome scales, shorter fronds, relatively fewer pinnae pairs and these pinnae lanceolate-oblong and 3-4 times longer than wide, usually with an axillary bud in the last couple of pinnae and the indusium with erose margin. The second species differs from Diplazium urticifolium by pinnae lobed and incised margin with 1/4-2/5 between the margin and the costa and axillary buds 5-10 per frond. Additionally, it describes D. urticifolium var. mesoamericanum which features a pinnatifid apex without subterminal buds. Finally, Diplazium costale var. robustum is transfereded to D. robustum and it distribution is expanded, and the distribution of Diplazium moccennianum is extended.
