Abstract

MUNOZ MORA, Juan Carlos; APARICIO RINCON, Sebastián  and  MESA ARISTIZABAL, Manuel. Is the economy a game? Experimental classroom evidences for an introduction to economics course. ecos.econ. [online]. 2011, vol.15, n.33, pp.185-207. ISSN 1657-4206.

This papers presents classroom evidences for the use of experimental economics games in a primarily course in Economics for Business and Management, Accounting and International Business students at the Universidad EAFIT, Medel in-Colombia. We adapted two different experiments; a market game proposed by Holt (1996) and aggregated production game proposed by Goeree and Holt (1999). These games were applied in the course ''Introducción a la Economía'' in 2011-I. Although it is a preliminary study, results suggest that there is presumably a positive effect on the grade and the learning process after have applied the games.

Keywords : Teaching economics; experimental economics.
