Abstract
RAVE GOMEZ, Elkin. Dependence Between Income and Savings Rates in Professionals Located in the South of the Aburra Valley. ecos.econ. [online]. 2013, vol.17, n.37, pp.161-175. ISSN 1657-4206.
The purpose of this paper is to determine whether professionals in the south of the Aburra Valley save money, and if there is any relationship between their money income and the savings rate. To corroborate assumptions, 385 surveys conducted in men and women holding university degrees, residing in the study sub-region. The information collected was treated by means of a non-parametric chi-square test and logistics regression to determine the degree of independence between the analyzed variables. Statistical studies results show that there is no independence between the savings rate and the level of income. This research also evidences that professionals who save the most are those who receive the highest monthly income.
