Abstract
VASQUEZ VALDERRAMA, María Adelaida and BELTRAN ROMERO, Claudia Helena. Myth and discourse on adolescent sexuality in Hispanic Websites. Encuentros [online]. 2014, vol.12, n.1, pp.73-89. ISSN 1692-5858.
This article is the result of research about sexuality discourses used in sexual education websites that target Spanish speaking adolescents. For the analysis, purposive sampling of the text of six different websites was reviewed, in which three key concepts were analyzed: sexuality notion, gender, and sexual diversity. A qualitative interpretative analysis was performed, through which an approach to Myth, as it is defined by Roland Barthes, is made. As a main result, it is found that the system of representations of adolescent sexuality promoted in the analyzed websites is not intended to subvert the biologistic, adult, male, and heterosexual sexuality regimen that has prevailed historically in the West.
Keywords : Adolescent Sexuality; discourse analysis; Myth; Websites; gender; sexual diversity.
