Abstract

This paper presents an empirical analysis of nonverbal communication and gender in the political arena. Does not part of the base that has a nonverbal speech on oral supremacy, but set an object of study based on nonverbal communication that is capable of providing meaning to oral speech. Is selected for this policy area because it is where there is more preparation discourse, ranging from the floor, through the attire and reaching the gesture. This will be analyzed various audiovisual messages of candidates to the Secretary General of the PSOE, Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba and Carmen Chacon, both alone and in interaction, in order to see if there is any significant change in their discourse on gender and presents the most significant results of this analysis.
