Abstract
CASTRO V., Heublyn. Training of teachers: faces of the past that remain and reshape the teaching profession. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2010, vol.8, n.1, pp.557-576. ISSN 1692-715X.
In this article I try to show that many of the studies that have been made about the social significance of being a teacher and their training in the past are representations still present in the current world. This implies that still exist, even in teacher training institutes - such as the Escuelas Normales Superiores reviewed in this paper - the image of a teacher who lacks of information, is deprived of own knowledge and performs a variety of activities in the school. From this perspective, the result image is that anyone can play a role in this "job-profession", having as a primary requirement for admission an enormous vocation, which is similar to that of a pastor-teacher.
Keywords : teachers; subjects lacking; destitute of knowledge; teacher training institutions.
