Abstract (analytical): In this article we report the findings found in a study about the subjective or personal theories present in a sample made up of nine Latin American books with advice on parenting, based on the emotional education of children. Objective: to describe the subjective theories present in the Latin American books with tips on parenting, specifically about the emotional education of children in their early childhood. Methodology: Theresearchhad a qualitative character, with contributions from the Grounded Theory School, by means of an analysis supported by open encoding and thematic encoding. Results and findings: We found three main categories of codes: 1) Stimulationof the affective or emotional development; 2) moral formation and 3) the role of parents, put forward with a little bit of alarmism and psychological determinism, in respect of childhood on the psychological conflicts of adulthood.
