Abstract

The aim of this study is to characterize the different infractions and behaviors problems in samples of Brazilian youths, composed of 133 adolescents from the general population, recruited from public schools, and another formed by 60 judged’ adolescents recruited in the probations programs. The participants answered a questionnaire about adolescent behavior, including conduct problems and criminal behavior. Results: The majority of adolescents in the population has used alcohol (61 %) and has committed any offense (77%), and a small part has used marijuana (12%). Among adjudicated adolescents, all revealed offenses and 93% alcohol use and 85% marijuana use. The mean of distinct offenses already made and the number of offenses in the last year were significantly higher among adjudicated adolescents.
