Traditional Chinese medicine is based on Oriental philosophy developed for over thousands of years. Understanding it involves a deep comprehension and knowledge of this matter. This article seeks to reflect on the philosophy behind traditional Chinese medicine and the role it has played in preventing disease. Three perspectives related to the philosophical foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Prevention analysis, as well as the rise and popularization of its use in prevention, and the role of science in strengthening the evidence in treatment of traditional Chinese medicine are addressed.
