Abstract

ESPINOZA LOLAS, Ricardo. Dionisos, the queer God. Eidos [online]. 2020, n.spe34, pp.292-321.  Epub Nov 25, 2021. ISSN 1692-8857.  https://doi.org/10.14482/eidos.34.305.42.

This article tries to show how certain categories of current feminism allow us to "decolonize" what is most characteristic of the Greek world, that is, the gods, in general; and, especially, the god Diónysos. In this way, what Nietzsche pointed out about the god takes on a more innovative and, at the same time, Dionysian nuance. And, for example, the god Diónysos would be better understood if categorized as Queer. That category makes visible the way the god operates performatively, and what is at stake here is how we understand the body; and, ultimately, the human, as articulated with things.

Keywords : Greece; Diónysos; Nietzsche; feminism; Queer; body.
