Abstract

Although criticized, even discredited, the canon concept in its catalog of perfection (a list of truly sacred texts) is actively maintained by literary readers, teachers and researchers. The type of question arises by the time you read a prescriptive manual or a literary history, that way, it arises when it comes to thinking about building a literature history, like the question of how to write history? or how to teach it? (the question for the periodization) remains indissoluble to what to write about in history? or what to teach? (the question for the canon concept). This research goes deeply into the different ways that historians of the Colombian novel have had at the time of devoting to "their" list of authors and works, that way, they have the purpose to establish the importance of the Map of the Authors and Works of the national novel, representing 98-year history of the Colombian novel.
