Abstract

CORREA SOTO, Carlos Mario. The journalism laboratory: The University practice of Pulitzer's foundational idea. Co-herencia [online]. 2013, vol.10, n.18, pp.45-77. ISSN 1794-5887.

University student journalism as an object of academic investigation has been almost completely ignored in Colombia, despite the existence and constant development of numerous printed and digital media that can provide research, information, interpretative, and opinion content about many and diverse aspects, more beneficial than those we receive from the agenda of the information companies of massive distribution. This work, basically descriptive, highlights and explains the characteristics of one of the categories of this type of journalism, which is planned and conducted, starting from a pedagogical constructivist strategy, in the newspapers and journals that serve as undergraduate practice laboratories in the fields of Social Communication and/or Journalism in the country.

Keywords : University journalism; constructivism; pedagogical models; student reporters; newspapers; journals; chronicles; reporting.
