Abstract

LEAL CURIEL, Carole. Gaze at the North with the head in the South: The creation of Venezuelan Confederation (1811-1812). Co-herencia [online]. 2016, vol.13, n.25, pp.199-229. ISSN 1794-5887.  https://doi.org/10.17230/co-herencia.13.25.7.

The article examines four of the Confederation debated projects in Venezuela in 1811 with the purpose of showing the evolution that occurred in the way of conceiving the confederal pact. An evolution that shows how the eventual adaptation-adoption of confederal / federal "model" of the United States was a rhetorical strategy through which different interpretations of such reference as an expression of the struggle between some representatives expressed acting provinces in the General Congress 1811-1812.

Keywords : Confederal pact; provincial governments; federal state; friendship and union league; nation..
